Breaking news: Everton issues bold ultimatum to Man city in bid to conclude high profile swap deal.. The toffees side get money and a brillant player in return. – fabrizo Romano says.

Everton are looking to do even more business this summer and could now make a move for one of Manchester City’s lesser used players.

The Toffees are having a busy summer ahead of a potential takeover at the club and have already landed a few players to improve the squad.

Iliman Ndiaye and Jesper Lindstrom are the marquee names signed so far, while young midfielder Tim Iroegbunam has also arrived from Aston Villa.

However, while those players all improve Sean Dyche’s squad, more signings are being looked at by the Toffees.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, one of those potential signings could end up being Manchester City midfielder, Kalvin Phillips.

Everton have spoken to agents of Kalvin Phillips

Writing in his daily briefing note for CaughtOffside, Romano got onto the subject of Phillips and his situation at Man City.

And in doing so, he’s revealed that Everton and others have spoken with Phillips’ agents.

“There’s no major update yet on Kalvin Phillips’ situation. Everton have been linked, and my understanding is that Everton but also many other clubs spoke with his agents, even if at the moment it’s not something close or imminent,” Romano said.

“I’m told it can take some days to assess all the options and then enter into advanced talks.”

City are looking to bring in around £20m for Phillips if they do sell.

The England international has had a torrid time with fitness and injury issues since signing for City and has been overlooked by Pep Guardiola on plenty of occasions.

However, Phillips has been lauded as an ‘unbelievable‘ player in the past and he proved with Leeds he can deliver.

A poor loan spell with West Ham last year will have also left a sour taste in the mouth of Phillips.

Everton, then, could be the ideal fresh start for him.
