Julen Lopetegui quick to action as westham Official submitted a bid for Tammy Abraham total package of

English striker Tammy Abraham has been on the West Ham United transfer radar for quite a few years now.

Tammy Abraham has once again emerged as a West Ham target this summer, with a recent report claiming that he could be picked up for just £21 million.

Julen Lopetegui has already signed one centre-forward this summer – Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund.

However, more firepower is needed up front if the Hammers are to enjoy a successful 2024/25 campaign.

The German is a very good striker but what if he suffers an injury and is forced to spend a prolonged spell on the sidelines?

Lopetegui cannot afford to have to rely on Michail Antonio for more than one or two games – that would be a disaster given the 34-year-old’s painful recent regression.

And it seems as though Abraham could well be the man to come in and provide competition and cover for Fullkrug.

West Ham make big Tammy Abraham decision

The former Chelsea hitman is proven at the very highest level.

And now he could well be set to swap the Italian capital for the east end of London.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition August 17th, page 13), West Ham is now the most likely destination for Abraham this summer.

That’s great news for the Hammers fans, because I think it was clearly evident yesterday that we need another proven centre-forward.

I’m willing to give Niclas Fullkrug time to settle into the club, but Michail Antonio shouldn’t be anywhere near the squad, let alone the starting XI.

And Abraham could well be the man for the job.

He possesses genuine quality, and he could make us a really dangerous attacking outfit.

Abraham is a top striker, and has bagged an impressive 130 goals in in 339 career appearances for club and country.

He proved that he has what it takes to succeed in the Premier League during his time with Chelsea, and bagged 15 goals during the 2019/20 season.

Standing at 6ft 5in tall, the 26-year-old could be a real problem in this West Ham team for our opponents.

However, we all know about the former Chelsea striker’s injury problems.

He has missed 301 days of football since suffering an ACL injury when playing for Roma in 2023.

Will the West Ham owners think that £21 million is a fair price to pay for Tammy Abraham? Only time will tell.
