Harry Redknapp certain about one thing at Everton this season

Harry Redknapp certain what will happen at Everton as Sean Dyche verdict delivered

Harry Redknapp believes Everton will be in a Premier League relegation battle no matter what they change this season as he backed Sean Dyche to stay in charge.

The Toffees have gotten off to a poor start this term and currently have zero points to their name after four matches, while also exiting the EFL Cup to Southampton on Tuesday (17 September).

Everton’s last few results have extended their winless streak to three in all competitions and to make matters worse, Dyche’s men led in all three – 2-0 in two of them.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (18 September, 8:46am), Brazil implied to Redknapp that Everton simply should not consider sacking Dyche, to which the former Spurs manager replied: “Absolutely.

“Go through their managers – [Carlo] Ancelotti was one of them and couldn’t do anything. The team is not good enough. It’s a great football club but at the moment they have an average team.

“They need to survive this year, get into the new stadium and then get in some better players. With that group, they are definitely in a relegation battle.”

Everton need to give Sean Dyche more time

Although fans may feel like they’re banging against the same drum, it still feels too early in the season to be making any final decisions about Dyche’s future just yet.

Sure, there is plenty of pressure mounting upon his head [The i, 17 September] in terms of performances but the reality is that the squad he’s been given doesn’t have enough depth or quality within it to not be dragged into a relegation battle.

The club were active in the summer transfer window, but it clearly want not enough when factoring in the departures.

Another thing the club are missing is Jarrad Branthwaite. The defender was stellar last term but has since been sidelined due to injury. Once he gets back to full fitness, it’ll be a different story once again.

There’s still time for Dyche to turn things around but to do so, he’s likely going to have to experiment with the talent he has at his disposal and try something different out.
