Leicester City and Everton shared the points on Saturday afternoon as the sides drew 1-1 at the King Power Stadium.
Everton were able to take the lead in the first half with an impressive strike from summer signing Iliman Ndiaye.
But taking the lead is something which has saw the Toffees come undone over the last two games against Bournemouth and Aston Villa.
Sean Dyche was a man under pressure at Everton ahead of kick off with the fans far from pleased from what they had seen in the opening weeks.
And the same issues were on display for Everton in the second half as they conceded towards the latter stages of the game to see a further two points disappear from their grasp.
Journalist wowed by what £45k-per-week Everton player did vs Leicester
Everton came into the game against the Foxes knowing three points would have been huge following what had been a dismal start to the season.
Four defeats from four had left the Toffees sitting rock bottom of the Premier League table coming into the game on Saturday.
However, the point has been able to get Dyche’s side up and running in the season but they do remain bottom of the table.
Ndiaye has now been able to establish his spot in the starting XI of the Everton side and he has now been able to provide a return in front of goal.
Speaking for BBC’s Final Score, former England defender Anita Asante shared her amazement at Ndiaye’s first touch to set up his goal.
“The first touch and individual quality from Iliman Ndiaye is incredible,” she said.
“He jinks into the box before cutting a shot low and hard into the near post. It goes in off the inside of the post, great start for Everton.”
Iliman Ndiaye’s performance vs Leicester in numbers
Everton have not exactly had an issue in finding the back of the net over recent weeks with four goals scored in their last two league games.
And those two games have both seen Ndiaye start having made the move from Marseille in the summer after a difficult campaign in France.
But his display against the Foxes was another impressive showing and here are the numbers behind his performance.
- 81 minutes
- 1 goal
- 39 touches
- 89% pass accuracy
- 4 key passes
- 1/1 crosses
- 1 clearance
- 1 interception
