Jamie O’Hara believes that Sean Dyche is the ideal manager for Everton at this moment in time.
The Toffees managed to bag their first Premier League win of the season in a 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace at Goodison Park on 28 September.
Dwight McNeil was inspired with two quick second-half goals as Everton leapt into fifteenth spot with the much-needed three points.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (28 September, 18:12 pm), O’Hara shared his verdict on the previous sack talk over Dyche.
“He takes a lot of stick Sean Dyche, you go ‘oh he’s old school’ and all that but I tell you what, he’s no nonsense, you know what you’re going to get,” he said.
“If he gets it right, you’re a good side, you’re solid. If you sacked him, who would you want, you’d want Sean Dyche.”
Sean Dyche is the right manager for Everton
Although Dyche himself has admitted he needs to “get things right” on the pitch to save his job this season, it feels as if the 53-year-old is still the right man [BBC Match of the Day, 28 September].
The former Burnley manager has found himself involved in many Premier League relegation battles and often knows how to work his way out of those situations.
The manager has been in charge of the Toffees for some time now and although questions have been raised about his future [Alan Myers, 26 September], it feels like he’s doing the best with what he’s been given.
McNeil burst into life in this huge win and if the club can continue building on the motivation, it feels like they could make their way out of the bottom half of the table sooner than many think.
There’s still plenty of time left in the season for things to change but at this moment in time, after their first top-flight win of the campaign, things feel a little brighter at Goodison Park.
