Sean Dyche to axe Calvert-Lewin, two changes – Everton predicted XI v Southampton
Sean Dyche could hand Beto a start for Everton in two changes for the trip to face Southampton on Saturday 2 November.
The Toffees travel to St Mary’s as they look to maintain their unbeaten run in the Premier League which has lasted five games so far.
Last time out, the points were shared with Fulham at Goodison Park with Beto scoring a late equaliser after coming off the bench to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
After this impact as a substitute, Dyche could utilise the 26-year-old from the start – at the expense of Calvert-Lewin – for the clash against the Saints.
The Toffees boss is unlikely to make too many changes to the side which secured a point against the Cottagers in the last Premier League game.
With that being said, the defence is likely to stay the same with Jordan Pickford potentially being supported by Michael Keane and James Tarkowski, with Vitalii Mykolenko and Ashley Young as the full backs.
A change could be utilised in the midfield after Dwight McNeil came off with an injury against Fulham. This could see Orel Mangala come in alongside Idrissa Gueye while Abdoulaye Doucoure moves forward and into the number ten role.
In the forward line, Iliman Ndiaye is likely to keep his spot on the left flank after a positive start to life at Goodison. The Senegal international could be joined by Jesper Lindstrom who could come in from the start to replace Jack Harrison on the right wing.
Up front, Dyche has a decision to make between Beto and Calvert-Lewin but with the Guinea-Bissau striker scoring last time out, it would only be fair to hand him a start against Southampton and axe the ex-Sheffield United man to the bench.
