Everton have just been handed a considerable injury boost ahead of their upcoming game on the weekend against West Ham united.
After a promising run of form, Sean Dyche’s side took a real step backwards last weekend with their defeat to Southampton.
The Toffees had the ability to really create a cushion between themselves and the bottom three but Everton threw away the opportunity.
However, it is not all doom and gloom around Goodison Park with The Friedkin Group expected to complete their Everton takeover this year.
And the Toffees have now been handed some further encouragement with one of the player’s who their fans will be desperate to see in action has now returned to training.
Armando Broja returns to Everton training
After signing in the summer on loan from Chelsea, Everton fans are yet to see striker Armando Broja in action having joined with an injury issue.
But the Albania international is now closing in on his Everton debut with the 23-year-old taking to the grass at Finch Farm for the first time.
The official Everton X account marked the striker’s return as they shared the message: ‘Great to see you out there and stepping up your recovery, Armando.’
But this is still very early stages in the striker’s return to the pitch with Dyche sharing an update on Broja’s injury just last week.
“The crossover will start to occur maybe even next week [this week], where he’ll just start with the light stuff with us, join warm-ups and possession games, and then build into a kind of journey back to playing,” he said.
Frank Lampard previously hailed Armando Broja as a big talent
Former Everton manager Frank Lampard has previously worked with the current Everton striker during their time at Chelsea.
Their time together was brief with Broja only racking up one appearance under Lampard as he spent a lot of the time out on loan with Southampton.
But Lampard heard positive things about Broja which should provide Everton fans with some optimism for things to come with the 23-year-old.
‘He’s fast, strong, has a real eye for goal and he’s a very, very good young player so I’m very aware of his strengths in a Southampton team playing very well,’ Lampard said a couple of years ago.
And there is already excitement building at Everton over Broja’s return with the Toffees struggling for goals this season.
How quickly he can now make it into the matchday squad is another question altogether.
