Everton picked up another point against West Ham United at the London Stadium, and Julen Lopetegui was left impressed by one player in particular.

It was far from a convincing performance and boring at times, but a point is a point.

There are still massive improvements to be had, and with Wolves picking up three points against Southampton there’s a little more pressure on Everton now.

Sean Dyche has come under even more criticism, despite deciding to start Jarrad Branthwaite this time round, as the performances just aren’t improving.

However, West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui was impressed by one Everton player as he showered him with his praise in his post-match press conference.

Julen Lopetegui impressed by Jordan Pickford after Everton draw

Jordan Pickford had one of his best games in an Everton shirt this season at the London Stadium.

His late save may just have saved Dyche’s job for the moment, and it certainly gave the fans in the away end something to shout about.

Julen Lopetegui hailed the England international (as per BBC) after the game, claiming he was one of Everton’s best players, and we agree, he was the standout performer.

“Pickford was one of their best players. Sometimes, it can happen that you don’t score. The positive thing is the clean sheet.”

Jordan Pickford’s performance in numbers against West Ham

Jordan Pickford made a total of six saves in the capital, saving the best until last.

He played the full 90 minutes, prevented 1.54 goals, successfully completed his only run out, made one high claim, five saves from inside the box, had 46 touches, a passing accuracy percentage of 66% and completed ten of his 23 long balls (as per SofaScore).

Dyche will be pleased with a clean sheet but they can’t keep on relying on the defence to pick them up points, as the goals need to start flowing at some point.
