Everton star says he’s now 100% fully fit after months of injury issues

Everton have been dealt their fair share of injury issues already this season, but it now appears as if one of their key men is finally free of any niggles.

Sean Dyche has often made the excuse of injuries affecting his side after negative results, and to some extent it’s true, but the players at his disposal currently would make up the majority of his best starting XI.

Everton currently have the likes of James Garner, Tim Iroegbunam and Seamus Coleman still recovering from issues, whilst Armando Broja is stepping up his recovery, training with the first-team.

The Toffees had two goalkeepers, Harrison Armstrong and Callum Bates on the substitutes’ bench last time out, so injuries are certainly affecting things when it comes to options during games.

However, one player has come out and provided some positive news for fans.

James Tarkowski says he’s now completely free of injury issues

James Tarkowski has been the go-to man for Everton this season, starting and finishing every game.

However, it’s not been easy for Tarkowski as he revealed he has been suffering with a couple of injury niggles throughout the season that hadn’t yet settled.

Luckily, the Englishman’s niggles haven’t been made worse by the extra work load, but it does beg the question of why Jake O’Brien was brought to the club if he’s not even required when there’s an injury.

Speaking to the Everton website, Tarkowski has come out and said he’s free of any injuries and is fully focused on giving his all for the blue shirts.

“I’m back to the way I want to be now. It’s took a bit of time, a frustrating period for the first few months. It’s not easy playing with niggles and injuries and not being at full fitness but it’s part of the game, there’s plenty of people do it. So, I’m feeling back to the level that I want to be, and I want to continue that.”

The centre-back situation at Everton

Some of the centre-back decisions so far this season have been baffling.

Michael Keane was kept in the side during a rough patch around the Bournemouth loss, but ended up being dropped last time out against West Ham despite not playing too badly against Southampton.

Meanwhile, Tarkowski has been allowed to play through injury, despite O’Brien being available.

Then we had the decision to leave out Jarrad Branthwaite, which made absolutely no sense and was later proved to be wrong after his performance against West Ham.
