England fans have had enough of one player despite vital Nations League win over Greece

On Thursday night, the Three Lions were at the Athens Olympic Stadium as they took on Greece in the UEFA Nations League.

Lee Carsley’s men were out for revenge after they suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against the same opponents at Wembley last time out.

England were off to a flyer as Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins, who led the attack ahead of captain Harry Kane, finished off a fine move to make it 1-0 inside seven minutes.

The second half proved to be a cagey affair as both teams looked to score.

Eventually, the Three Lions made it two after Jude Bellingham’s shot went in off Greece goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos. Debutant Curtis Jones then made it 3-0 with a clever backheel in the 83rd minute.

Despite a positive result, England fans were less than happy with the performance put in by Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Kyle Walker shouldn’t be anywhere near the international team.”

Another tweeted: “First act of Tuchel as England manger should be to pull Kyle Walker to the side and tell him he won’t be selected in the squad again.”

A third fan added: “Kyle Walker. Can’t be taking that to a World Cup.”

Someone else joked: “Kyle Walker is such a good defender that he took the sting out of our own attack.”

A fifth commented: “Kyle Walker is nowhere near the player he once was.”

Another fan said: “Kyle Walker left his ability to run somewhere on holiday during the summer.”

England will be back in Nations League action again this weekend when they take on the Republic of Ireland at Wembley on Sunday afternoon. The game against the Irish will be Carsley’s final match as England’s interim boss.

Former Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint Germain manager Thomas Tuchel will officially take over as England boss in January.
