Everton are in desperate need of further reinforcements this January.
Everton look really light up front with Dominic Calvert-Lewin misfiring, netting just two goals in the Premier League.
Everton fans have urged Sean Dyche to bench Calvert-Lewin but he’s still getting the starting opportunities.
Evidently, there’s a clear need to sign some attacking quality this Janaury transfer window and it’s just emerged that the Friedkin Group are plotting a swap deal to sign a Roma player.
Though, strangely it’s for a midfielder.
Friedkin Group eye swap deal involving Beto and Bryan Cristante
According to AS Roma Live, the Friedkin Group are eyeing a swap deal involving Beto and Roma’s Bryan Cristante.
The report claims Roma are keen on signing a back-up to Artem Dovbyk and Beto is viewed as the ideal man.
The Italian giants have been long-term admirers of the Everton frontman and with his lack of minutes at Goodison, he could be open to a return to Serie A.
In fact, Everton News recently reported that Beto wants to leave Everton and club chiefs are prepared to let him depart on loan deal this winter.
Everton could sign Cristante
In exchange for Beto, Everton could sign Roma’s midfielder star Bryan Cristante and it’s a deal that is viewed as beneficial by both parties.
Cristante, who earns around £89k-a-week, is an extremely versatile player who can ply his trade as a number eight, defensive midfielder and centre-back.
Though, is he really a profile Everton need? The recruitment team would be much better off spending their time on signing a forward.
That must be the priority this winter.
