Boubacar Kamara update as Aston Villa’s injury woes continue

Boubacar Kamara is reportedly set to miss at least two weeks of action due to injury.

The 25-year-old requested to come off in the first half of Villa’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Saturday. Replaced in the 16th minute by Tyrone Mings, it has now been reported by The Athletic that Kamara is due to be sidelined for at least a fortnight.

Villa will play five games in the next two weeks, including the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

Kamara could make a quick recovery and return for that game, but he is almost certain to miss league matches against Liverpool, Chelsea and Crystal Palace before Villa take on Cardiff City in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Friday, February 28.

After the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie, Villa are away at Brentford on Saturday, March 8, before their return European leg on either Tuesday, March 11, or Wednesday, March 12.

Mings returned from injury against Ipswich and will likely partner Axel Disasi in defence against Liverpool on Wednesday.

Unai Emery will give a team news update in his pre-match press conference on Tuesday, but is expected to be without Ross Barkley, Pau Torres, Matty Cash, Amadou Onana and Ezri Konsa.
