Not Another One: West Ham hit by further injury curse

West Ham defender Vladimir Coufal was missing from the weekend match day squad after suffering from a hamstring strain earlier in the week.

Coufal is unlikely to be declared fit for the trip to North London to face Arsenal this weekend and reports suggest he will also miss the Leicester City home game too meaning he might not return until the Hammers home game at the London Stadium against Newcastle United on 10 March.

Whilst his absence might not seem to impact the squad too much, it does limit the Hammers options given that Graham Potter has used the Czech defender to cover the error prone Dinos Mavropanos.

The 32-year-old  Hammer is out of contract in June this year but is desperate to extend his stay at West Ham and finish his top flight professional career as a Hammer.

He will want to prove to Potter that he can remain a useful squad player next season after signing for the Hammers five years ago in 2o20.

The right-back is reported to earn £30,000 per week making him one of the most cost-effective players in the current squad.
