David Moyes reveals Everton sickness bug ahead of Brentford and provides new Nathan Patterson injury update

Everton manager David Moyes has revealed that his team has been hit by a sickness bug ahead of their upcoming match against Brentford. The Toffees are scheduled to face Thomas Frank’s side at Goodison Park on Saturday, but Moyes’ preparations have been disrupted by the illness sweeping through the squad.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Moyes confirmed that several players have been affected by the bug, which has left them feeling unwell and unable to train. While Moyes did not disclose the names of the affected players, he admitted that the situation is being closely monitored and that the team’s medical staff are working hard to contain the outbreak.

“We’ve had a few players who have been unwell, and we’re trying to contain it as much as we can,” Moyes explained. “We’re taking all the necessary precautions, and our medical team is doing a great job in trying to get the players back to full fitness as quickly as possible.”

The sickness bug is the last thing Moyes needed, as his team looks to bounce back from a disappointing run of form. The Toffees have struggled to find consistency this season, and the visit of Brentford presents an opportunity for them to get back on track.

In addition to the sickness bug, Moyes also provided an update on the injury status of right-back Nathan Patterson. The Scotland international has been sidelined with an ankle injury, but Moyes revealed that he is making good progress in his rehabilitation.

“Nathan is doing well,” Moyes said. “He’s working hard in training, and we’re hoping to have him back available for selection soon. We’re not going to rush him back, though – we want to make sure he’s fully fit and ready to go before we bring him back into the team.”

Everton will be hoping to have Patterson back in the fold as soon as possible, as they look to shore up their defense and climb the Premier League table. With the visit of Brentford looming, Moyes will be keeping his fingers crossed that his team can overcome the sickness bug and put in a strong performance.
