Everton told to agree ‘£100m Jarrad Branthwaite deal’ – Keith Wyness

Man United swooped for Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite in 2023 but he remained on Merseyside and is now a key man for David Moyes’ side.
The centre-back, 22, signed a new long-term contract just months after that interest but that deal is up in June 2027.
Real Madrid, who are managed by ex-Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, have recently been linked with the England international.
Branthwaite has played 90 minutes in each fixture since Moyes’ return to Merseyside.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has had his say on a potential new deal for Branthwaite, who also has a 12-month extension clause in his current contract.
Everton should insert ‘£100m’ release clause in new Branthwaite deal
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted Everton should include a £100million release clause in any new deal.

Branthwaite made his England debut in June 2024 but is yet to earn a second international cap at the senior level.
Wyness told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “If they’re going to give him a new contract, there has to be some sort of clause to keep him at the club.
“Everton have to make sure there’s a break clause – and I think they should be looking at over £100m.
“Real Madrid have now been mentioned and it’s not surprising. He’s a huge young talent.
“He plays the ball with such composure. I don’t really like speaking about him too much because it could alert people to just how good he is.”

Friedkin backed to bankroll £200m of Everton signings
Meanwhile, Everton will also be putting plans in place for the upcoming summer transfer window as they prepare to move into a new home for the 2025-26 campaign.
Wyness has previously told Football Insider that Everton could spend £50million on four players this summer – £200million in total – thanks to increased revenue from the stadium.
David Moyes’ side made just one January addition but have pulled 15 points clear of the relegation zone since the Scot’s arrival.
