Idrissa Gueye’s future at Everton has already been decided amid growing interest from Saudi Arabia.
The 35-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, leaving the Toffees with a decision to make ahead of what should be a brighter season next term.
There has been reported interest in Gueye from elsewhere, with a number of clubs in Saudi Arabia said to be very interested in a deal.
Everton to keep hold of Gueye
With the summer transfer window approaching and a number of players reaching the end of their contracts at Goodison Park, there are some decisions to be made behind the scenes.
Everton were said to be keen on extending Gueye’s time on Merseyside as the midfielder has made 26 Premier League appearances this season.

It seems Moyes may have got his wish, too, as Africa Foot report [4 March] that Gueye is close to agreeing new terms with the Blues that will keep him on Merseyside until 2026.
This is despite interest in the player from a number of clubs from the Middle East, who were hoping to secure his services at the end of the season.

Everton right to keep hold of Gueye
Gueye might be one of the older players at Goodison Park, but Moyes needs to retain some of the experienced players in the squad as he looks to transition his team, ready to embark on a new era at Bramley-Moor Dock.
Therefore, an year on Gueye’s contract at Everton should be a perfect extension for both parties heading into the summer window.
An offer from Saudi Arabia could always be tempting for some players given the increased amount of money that there is the opportunity to earn.
However, clearly the 35-year-old feels as though he still has plenty to give and isn’t ready to make such a drastic move just yet.
Under both Sean Dyche and Moyes‘ management, Gueye has been a mainstay in the Toffees squad and it feels only right that he is part of the project going forward that is more positive.
With a move to a new stadium, new owners and things going very well under the new manager, there is plenty to be looking forward to on Merseyside.
