Newcastle fans have voiced their frustration after receiving an update on Sven Botman’s injury situation as the team prepares for the Carabao Cup final.
Newcastle are preparing to face off West Ham on 10 March in the Premier League, before facing Liverpool in the EFL Cup final.
However, Eddie Howe‘s team has endured two consecutive defeats of late — one to to their Carabao Cup final opponents Liverpool and another to Brighton, which saw them eliminated from the FA Cup.
Newcastle will already be without Anthony Gordon for the final, following his red card for violent conduct against Brighton, meaning he will miss the next three domestic games.
With Lewis Hall ruled out for the rest of the season, fans were left anxiously awaiting an update on another key player, Botman, who has been struggling with recurring injuries this term.

Eddie Howe and Newcastle receive disappointing update on Sven Botman
Craig Hope of the Daily Mail revealed that Newcastle have suffered a significant injury blow as Botman is set for knee surgery, which will rule him out of the Carabao Cup final.
This news is a major setback for Howe’s side, especially as Botman had only recently returned to Newcastle from a 10-month ACL absence in January.
The Dutch defender has missed the last five games, and after evaluating his condition, the club have decided that surgery is the best course of action, potentially bringing an end to his season, alongside Hall.
Botman has featured in just six games this season, accumulating 455 minutes of action. This latest injury adds to his already troubled season, having spent much of it sidelined after missing a total of 46 games since last season due to injury.
Newcastle fans left devastated by injury blow to Sven Botman
Howe was urged to drop key players like Alexander Isak and Botman in case of any injury worries but it seems as if the Dutchman’s injury came before they had any chance of managing it.
Newcastle supporters were frustrated by the news of Botman’s injury, especially considering the club’s ongoing battle to secure their first major trophy in 70 years.
