Everton boss vent his frustration after wolves draw

David Moyes ‘disappointment’ speaks volumes as Everton boss reflects on Wolves draw
David Moyes was pleased with a point from a tough game at Wolves – but is slightly frustrated his Everton side have been unable to turn recent draws into wins
David Moyes is disappointed Everton have been unable to turn the last three draws into wins after another game in which his team missed chances to take three points. He conceded Wolves were the better side on Saturday night and said that, ultimately, he was pleased with a valuable point from a tough away trip.

Yet there was also some frustration, with Jose Sa’s late save from Beto preventing another away win under Moyes. Had the BLues shown the same ruthlessness they started his tenure with, they could have six more points and be on the cusp of the top half.
Instead, Everton and their manager had to settle for a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Molineux after Marshall Munetsi cancelled out Jack Harrison’s opener.
After the match, Moyes said: “I’m really pleased with the point. I don’t think we played the best tonight, but I think we showed the club has got resilience. It was tough, they made it hard. I don’t think Wolves created loads of chances, but they were the better side and we stuck at it.

“We still made one or two opportunities, but tonight was always going to be an incredibly difficult game with what Wolves are playing for – staying in the Premier League. They are fighting for those points so hard, like we have been in recent games at Goodison. So I knew exactly how tough it would be.”
He added: “I still thought we could have probably tidied it up, it looked a bit ugly from our point of view, but overall, look, Wolves played well. I didn’t think we gave up too many opportunities, but unfortunately that one they took.”

There remained a tinge of disappointment the Blues had not taken more from the games against Manchester United, Brentford and then this clash – though, asked if he would have taken the eight-game unbeaten league run his side are currently on, Moyes said: “If you had given me that before I came in I would have been saying you were off your head. The other thing is we’re actually quite disappointed the last three games have been drawn.
