London Left Bone-Dry as Geordies Storm the Capital Before Carabao Cup Final- Did They Leave Anything Behind?

Geordies Take Over London Ahead of Carabao Cup Final – Did They Drink the City Dry?

Newcastle United fans turned their trip to London into a full-fledged weekend celebration, with thousands of Geordies descending upon the capital on Saturday to kick off the festivities ahead of today’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

The Magpies are set to face Liverpool at Wembley at 4:30 pm, hoping to end their agonizing 70-year wait for a domestic trophy. However, while the focus is on the silverware, Newcastle supporters have certainly lived up to their reputation for passionate, boisterous support.

There’s an old saying among Toon fans: “Win or lose, we’re on the booze.” But for the travelling Toon Army, that motto might be harder to follow today—not just because of alcohol restrictions reportedly in place after the final, but because they may have already drained London dry!

A viral post in the We All Love NUFC Facebook group last night revealed that the Punch & Judy pub in Covent Garden had completely run out of beer before 6 pm on Saturday. Yes, you read that right—before the sun had even set, Geordie fans had emptied an entire pub’s supply of booze. Now that’s dedication!

The Toon invasion was well-documented throughout the weekend, with fans and media alike sharing photos and videos of the electric atmosphere around London. Newcastle supporters flooded the streets, filling bars, chanting in unison, and soaking in the build-up to one of their biggest games in decades.

With the match set to take place in just a few hours, one big question remains: Will there be any drinks left for the post-match celebrations—or commiserations?
