Aston Villa fans are in for a treat as Netflix is set to release a documentary series titled “Living for the Game.” Although an official release date hasn’t been announced yet, the series is expected to give fans a behind-the-scenes look at the club’s 2023-24 season .
The documentary series is inspired by the success of other popular sports docuseries, such as Amazon’s “All or Nothing” series, which featured Tottenham, Manchester City, and Arsenal. Aston Villa’s CEO, Chris Heck, hopes that “Living for the Game” will provide fans with an intimate look at the club’s inner workings and showcase the team’s dedication to success
Finance expert Kieran Maguire notes that while the documentary series may not bring in significant revenue, it will provide valuable opportunities for brand building and audience connection. However, Maguire also warns of the risks associated with a crowded market, as the novelty and appeal of sports documentaries may diminish if too many similar offerings flood the market
As fans eagerly await the release of “Living for the Game,” they can catch Aston Villa’s upcoming matches on TV. The team’s next live TV game is against Preston North End on March 30, 2025, in the FA Cup Quarter Final
