UKRAINIAN TEAM DOCTOR PROVIDED AN UPDATE ON MYKOLENKO DEVASTATING INJURY

Most of Everton’s first-team squad are away on international duty.

Jake O’Brien was in action for Ireland last night as his side defeated Bulgaria 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League.

O’Brien has been a real threat for the Republic and came close to scoring in both fixtures last week, which David Moyes will be pleased about.

Leighton Baines has been deployed to improve O’Brien’s attacking threat and quite clearly, it’s paying dividends.

Everton’s wide man Jesper Lindstrom was also in action on Sunday evening as Denmark suffered a 5-2 defeat to Portugal.

Here’s how Danish media reacted to Lindstrom’s performance.

Jesper Lindstrom started against Portugal on Sunday evening and operated as a left winger before being dragged off in the 65th minute.

Denmark’s national media DR gave him a brutal 2/10 match rating as they criticised him for missing a big chance.

“‘Jobbe’ was on sick leave in place of Mikkel Damsgaard in the first match and delivered a particularly good first half.

“He didn’t do that, however, when there was a re-election in Lisbon. It turned into a couple of successful challenges, but when the ball suddenly lay in a favourable position for a finish, he didn’t get a shot on goal. Naturally, he was substituted early after the break.”

Lindstrom’s poor stats vs Portugal

It was a game to forget for the Everton international as he touched the ball just 23 times during his 65 minutes on the pitch.

Lindstrom was dispossessed a whopping seven times and won just two of his seven duels, so it’s hardly surprising he was dragged off.

Here are his underwhelming Sofascore statistics.

  • 65 minutes played
  • 23 touches
  • 7 possession lost
  • 2/7 duels won
  • 1 dribbled past

Danish media’s 2/10 score made him the lowest-rated player on the pitch, joint with Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund.

Lindstrom will now fly back to Merseyside this week ahead of the grudge clash against Liverpool next Wednesday.
