David Moyes has taken a point from the Reds already this season in one of the most dramatic games of the season.

The Everton boss maintains the club are not safe from relegation until it is mathematically impossible for them to go down.

Liverpool remain in a solid position to get their hands on the title, but the Blues will be keen to take what would be a huge three points off them.

Last time out, Jamie Carragher said Everton could dent Liverpool’s title hopes with a victory in the Merseyside Derby.

This time around, the former Liverpool defender has taken a much more defensive approach to what Gary Neville has said ahead of the game.

The Merseyside Derby was asked to be played a day earlier then what it is going to be next Wednesday.

Just hours after full-time, the Grand National meeting will begin at Aintree, putting a real strain on the authorities.

Speaking on The Overlap, Carragher and Neville got into a heated discussion over the upcoming Merseyside Derby next week.

“I mean, I think Liverpool will win next Wednesday and they’ll absolutely win the league, but…” said Neville.

“Just let it go!” Carragher interrupted.

“But, if Everton were to win… I think Liverpool are going to win the league and I think they’ll win it well and it’ll be an unbelievable achievement. Would there be a bit of [worry] if Everton beat them?”

Everton will be hoping Vitalii Mykolenko is fit to play after receiving a positive result back from his injury scan.

But the Toffees will be keen to finally get another win back on the board having gone four-straight games only claiming a point.

Following the game at Goodison, Arne Slot praised Everton for stopping his side from putting together their usual high standards.

The Toffees may certainly feel they should have taken all three points from the game.

This time around, they will be facing a Liverpool side playing on home soil, but the Reds will be without some important players like Trent Alexander-Arnold.

However, Alisson Becker and Ryan Gravenberch are expected to be fit to play against Everton next week.

Moyes’ side have already shown they are capable of putting up a good test against Liverpool, so why can’t they do it again?
