Newcastle United could bid farewell to some familiar faces this summer.
After a period in which Newcastle United struggled to sell players, the wheels started to turn during the January transfer window.
Miguel Almiron left Newcastle in January, while Lloyd Kelly joined Juventus on loan with an obligation to buy.
This summer, the exits are expected to continue, with Sean Longstaff potentially the next to go.
Eddie Howe has confirmed Longstaff is facing an “unclear” future at St James’ Park, having dropped down the pecking order in recent months.
Newcastle, of course, would bank pure profit from selling the midfielder due to his status as an academy graduate – which would no doubt help with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Manchester United have been linked with Longstaff but it appears another Premier League rival could make a move.

Everton have been linked with Longstaff for a while and it seems they may look to accelerate their pursuit when the season comes to an end.

According to Joe Thomas of the Liverpool Echo on social media platform X, the Toffees are likely to revisit their interest in the 27-year-old this summer.
For his part, Longstaff is understood to be open to leaving Newcastle in pursuit of more regular first-team football.
This season, the Newcastle United academy graduate has started only eight Premier League games.
Sean Longstaff came under Everton’s gaze in January and will likely do so again in the summer.
Eddie Howe’s latest comments on the future of the midfielder suggest there is a deal to be done should Moyes’ interest continuehttps://t.co/pOiU65HLF3https://t.co/pOiU65HLF3

Newcastle United saved millions on their Sean Longstaff replacement
Internally, Newcastle are very excited about Lewis Miley, a potential replacement for Longstaff in their squad.
While it would be a shame to see the Geordie midfielder leave, at least having an up-and-coming talent like Miley (also an academy graduate of course) in the squad would somewhat soften the blow.
Miley has impressed this season and obviously enjoyed a breakout campaign last time out.

Sean Longstaff’s record at Newcastle United
Longstaff has been a fine player for Newcastle and scored a vital penalty in the shootout away at Nottingham Forest in the second-round of the Carabao Cup which helped the club on their way to winning a first major domestic trophy in 70 years.
Sadly, however, everything comes to an end.
