PSG THREATEN ASTON VILLA’S TRANSFER PLANS FOR RASHFORD

Villa’s Rashford Dream Faces PSG Threat as Summer Battle Brews

Marcus Rashford’s resurgence at Aston Villa has not only reignited his career — it’s also sparking a fresh transfer tug-of-war between two of Europe’s ambitious sides.

The England international, who joined Villa on loan from Manchester United in January, has looked revitalized under Unai Emery’s system. Operating with more freedom and confidence, Rashford is starting to show glimpses of the electric forward who once terrorized Premier League defenses. And now, with his form steadily climbing, interest in the 26-year-old is heating up once again.

According to The Sun, Emery has made it clear to Villa’s board: he wants Rashford to stay permanently. The Spaniard sees him as a key part of Villa’s attacking future — a player with both Premier League experience and Champions League pedigree, who fits the club’s upward trajectory. Villa, backed by ambitious ownership, are reportedly prepared to table a significant bid to make the deal happen.

However, it won’t be straightforward.

Paris Saint-Germain are said to be reviving their long-standing interest in Rashford, with sporting director Luis Campos a keen admirer. PSG were linked with the forward in previous windows, and now, amid their search for Kylian Mbappé’s long-term replacement, they view Rashford as a viable, high-upside option. Sources close to the club claim Campos is convinced by the attacker’s recent revival and sees him thriving in Ligue 1.

That said, one major sticking point for Villa is Rashford’s current wage demands. To remain at Villa Park beyond this season, he would need to accept a significant pay cut from the terms he’s on at United — reportedly one of the highest earners at Old Trafford. Whether Rashford is willing to do so may depend on his desire for stability, consistent minutes, and the trust he’s clearly found under Emery.

Villa fans are hopeful. There’s a genuine belief that Rashford has found the right environment to rebuild and flourish. The connection between him and the club — both on and off the pitch — feels real. But with PSG now circling, and United likely open to cashing in, the next few months could shape Rashford’s future in a major way.

A bidding war could erupt this summer — and for Villa, securing Rashford could be a defining statement of intent. But if they’re going to win this race, they’ll have to do more than just put up the cash. They’ll have to convince Rashford that Villa Park is the best place to finish what he’s started.
