Everton have been able to secure three summer signings so far, but David Moyes is hungry for more.
It has been a relatively steady start to the summer window for Everton, with the Blues now halfway through July and preparing for their pre-season tour.
Moyes would love to see some new faces brought through the doors at Finch Farm in time to join their flight to the United States next week.
Angus Kinnear has made it clear Everton have a lot of work to do this summer, and the new CEO is seemingly finding it a tricky market to operate in.
With Moyes working his magic last season, Everton are looking at midfield improvements as a key area to add to the squad.
Heading into the final weeks of July, there is now a concern at Finch Farm that they could be drawn into a bidding war for one of their top targets.

Everton cautious of Hayden Hackney bidding war with Manchester United
Everton News understands Everton hold an interest in Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney this summer.
Boro are expecting to lose their 23-year-old midfielder, with a number of clubs keen to secure his services.
According to GiveMeSport, there is some concern around Finch Farm that they could be dragged into a bidding war.
It is claimed Manchester United also hold an interest in Hackney
As per Everton News sources, the Championship outfit would be willing to sell Hackney this summer, but they will be holding out for £20m+.
Hackney has also recently changed his agent to join an agency which has a strong relationship with Everton.
Moyes is demanding more signings at Everton, and the midfield is certainly an area where the Toffees could seek improvements.

Everton have around £100m to spend this summer
The Friedkins have handed Everton £100m to spend in the transfer market.
That chunk of change does need to be spread across a whole list of needs on Merseyside, though.
It is clear the Blues are going to have to get clever in the market, with Everton setting their eyes on the free agent and loan market.
However, there are certain areas which do need investment, and some Everton fans may feel that better midfielders are needed.
What will be interesting to see is how much of a fight Man United could put up, considering their current battle to sign Bryan Mbeumo.
