Player agrees £230,000 a week contract to secure Manchester United exit

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, had immediate concerns regarding the attitude and work rate of Marcus Rashford and the England international was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the last campaign.

The Three Lions star excelled at Villa Park but he seems to have no future at Old Trafford as yesterday, the Red Devils agreed a loan deal with Barcelona.

Rashford was one of the highest earners at the club at £325,000 a week. However, he has agreed to take a pay cut and will earn around 14 million euros a season, £230,000 a week, with the Blaugrana (The Athletic).

The 27-year-old will wear the No.14 shirt and as already confirmed by Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan giants have the option to make the move permanent for 30 million euros.

Rashford was supposed to be one of the biggest superstars at Old Trafford, but unfortunately, the Three Lions forward has proved to be highly inconsistent over the last few years.

He scored 30 goals in all competitions in the 2022-23 campaign and earned himself a lucrative contract. Since then, he has not been able to justify the mammoth wages.

In the 2023-24 season under the guidance of Erik ten Hag, Rashford only managed to score 8 goals for Manchester United.

Moreover, last season, he netted 4 goals in 15 Premier League appearances before United decided to loan him out to Villa.

After joining the Nou Camp outfit, he has wished Manchester United the best and perhaps the Old Trafford faithful should do exactly the same.
