Newcastle United are likely to see their name mentioned regularly on the transfer rumour mill as the summer window rolls on.
Eddie Howe has welcomed one new signing to his Magpies squad so far this summer with the £55million arrival of Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest. Newcastle have until September 1 to complete their transfer business for the summer, with plenty of time left to get more new signings through the door at St James’ Park.
Newcastle are currently in the Far East as part of their pre-season tour. After losing 3-2 to Arsenal in their latest friendly, the Magpies will take on a K-League XI in their next fixture on Wednesday.

Here, Chronicle Live takes a look at some of the latest Newcastle transfer news and gossip that has emerged over the last 24 hours.
Alexander Isak update
A fresh update has emerged about Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle. The Daily Mail has reported that United are now expecting to receive a formal offer from Liverpool for Isak amid increased speculation that a departure may be on the cards this summer.
The report claims that the reigning Premier League champions being on the verge of sanctioning a £65 million sale of Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich means that a bid for Isak is now imminent.
Chronicle Live says: Isak’s future has been dominating headlines just lately and there’s no signs of that changing anytime soon. It remains to be seen what will happen in the weeks ahead, with Newcastle still determined not to see their star striker leave the club this summer.
Benjamin Sesko ‘stance’
Newcastle have been handed a blow in their hopes of signing RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko.
According to journalist Guido Schäfer, via the London Evening Standard, Sesko would be more inclined to sign for Manchester United this summer than complete a move to St James’ Park.
Both Newcastle and Man United have been linked with a move for Sesko this summer, with the striker also being mentioned as a target for Arsenal earlier in the summer before they signed Viktor Gyokeres.
Chronicle Live says: Sesko’s name has been mentioned on the rumour mill for Newcastle for some time, with the rumours ramping up over the last few days. If the report turns out to be true and the Magpies would be in danger of missing out on signing Sesko, then it would leave Howe and Co. needing to search for a replacement in the transfer market.
