Newcastle United look likely to have a busy end to the summer transfer window based on some of the latest reports.
When it comes to new signings, RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has been heavily linked with a move to St James’ Park. However, it seems that Newcastle also face competition from Manchester United for his signature.
There is also a chance that some players may leave Newcastle before the September 1 deadline. Alexander Isak’s future is still the subject of speculation, with Liverpool known to have an interest in signing the Sweden international.

Here, Chronicle Live have taken a look at some of the latest Newcastle transfer news and gossip that has generated headlines over the last 24 hours.
Atalanta defender ‘wanted’
Newcastle are being linked with a move for Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini.
Journalist Alfredo Pedulla has claimed that the Magpies have an interest in signing the Serie A centre-back this summer. However, it has been claimed that Atalanta have no desire to see Scalvini leave the club.
The report claims that Newcastle would need to make an “unmarketable offer” in order to have a chance of signing Scalvini.
Chronicle Live says: “Newcastle are continuing to be linked with signing a new centre-back, with Scalvini one of the latest names mentioned. Scalvini is widely regarded as one of the most talented defensive prospects in Europe, so if United are showing an interest, it’s an indication of their ambition to bring the best players to St James’ Park.”
Real Madrid stance
Newcastle have been handed a blow in their apparent hopes of signing Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.
Caught Offside have reported that despite the Magpies showing an interest in signing Lunin, Madrid are said to have no desire to let the goalkeeper leave the club this summer.
Newcastle are mentioned in the report as trying to sign Lunin on loan, but Madrid are said to be determined to not let the Ukraine international leave either on loan or on a permanent basis.
Chronicle Live says: “Newcastle seem determined to sign a new goalkeeper this summer. If the Magpies are set to miss out on signing Lunin, they could still have hopes of bringing Aaron Ramsdale to St James’ Park from Southampton – who could be a perfect fit for Eddie Howe’s side.”
