Nuno Espirito Santo Agrees Terms to Replace Graham Potter as West Ham Boss

West Ham United are expected to hire Nuno Espirito Santo as Graham Potter’s successor, with personal terms already agreed, according to GIVEMESPORT sources.

The London Stadium side sacked Potter just five games into the Premier League season on Saturday, following their disappointing start to the campaign, with the club sitting 19th in the table.

West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady is spearheading the club’s negotiations to hire Espirito Santo as a replacement, less than three weeks after the Portuguese tactician lost his job at Nottingham Forest.

Espirito Santo is set to take his first training session at West Ham as soon as today, and it is expected he will be in charge for Monday’s clash away at Everton.

Head of recruitment Kyle Macaulay is also leaving his role at the London Stadium after reuniting with Potter at West Ham following their time together at Chelsea.

West Ham United head coach Graham Potter

West Ham announced their decision to part ways with Potter on Saturday, with the 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend becoming his final game in charge.

The former Brighton and Chelsea tactician has left the London Stadium after winning only six of his 25 games in charge, with the club sitting 19th in the Premier League table.

Rumours over Potter’s future in East London intensified following their loss to Palace at home last Saturday, as West Ham explored several potential replacements, including their former head coach Slaven Bilic.

Potter was appointed to replace Julen Lopetegui in January but only saw out eight months of his initial two-and-a-half-year deal.

The role at the London Stadium was his first since his disappointing spell at Chelsea in 2022/23, which lasted only 31 games – six more than his tenure at West Ham.

Espirito Santo was dismissed as Forest boss on September 9, just three games into the Premier League season and less than three months after the club handed him a new three-year contract.

The 51-year-old guided Forest to a seventh-place finish last term, with the club securing European football for the first time in three decades.
