Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher, has reminded the club the two bad transfer decisions they made in recent times as their bad run of play continues with a 1-1 draw against Man United over the weekend.
Manager, Daniel Farke hailed Brenden Aaronson after his goal opened the game before Matheus Cunha’s equaliser at Elland Road.
Leeds have now won only 2 of their last 11 matches, moving 8 points away from the relegation spots and falling 9 points behind the European spots.
Carragher thinks Leeds United should have retained Bamford last summer instead.
He has already scored 5 goals in 8 matches this season and Carragher said it was a mistake not retaining him at Elland Road.
I couldn’t believe they let him go. Now we’re seeing why I was so sure about that because he’s doing his own thing at Sheffield.
“He’s scoring goals and you can count on him as a reliable player. But that ship has already left, it’s gone now, but they shouldn’t have let him go in the first place.
“I don’t want to keep talking about it, but we really should have retained him because there were no doubts or questions about it.
“It’s just pure experience with him. DCL has been great and he’s still doing his bits but I believe he needs to handle the ball more.”
Farke will want Leeds to start winning again on Wednesday night when they play against Newcastle at St James Park.
