West Ham United to table big-money Tammy Abraham transfer offer, Roma will accept
West Ham are ready to offer £25million to sign Tammy Abraham and Roma will accept the offer when it is put in writing, according to Il Romanista.
The Italian outlet reported via their website on the morning of 14 August that in the past few hours there was movement in the Premier League with regards to a move for the English forward.
And the “substantial news” coming from the Hammers is that they are said to be ready to abandon attempts to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa and send an offer to the Stadio Olimpico which “everyone would agree on”.
The club are ready to move for the former Chelsea striker having already secured Niclas Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund.
West Ham turn away from Jhon Duran at Aston Villa
Duran had been seen as the primary option for the Irons to bring in to address the dearth of options at striker this summer [The Athletic, 12 July].
The Colombian appears to be very keen on joining but the attempts to agree a deal with his club proved frustrating and Tim Steidten then responded by securing a deal for Fullkrug.
The German veteran’s arrival takes the pressure of the position but the club willing to let Danny Ings leave for free just to get his £130,000-a-week contract off the wage bill [talkSPORT, 13 August] and Michail Antonio is now 34 so there isn’t much in the way of back-up.
But if the club are going to put another hefty bid on the table after buying Max Kilman, Fullkrug, Crysencio Summerville, Luis Guilherme and now Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a substantial outlay there surely will need to be savings elsewhere.
Offloading Ings would be a start and finding a new taker for Kurt Zouma [TBR Football, 13 August] after his Shabab Al-Ahli move collapsed will be necessary, with the window looking likely to remain busy for the rest of the month.
