Everton are reportedly set to lose a youngster merely hours before the transfer window slams shut.
Sean Dyche’s Everton are closing in on the addition of Lyon midfielder Orel Mangala after the Toffees struck a loan agreement with Lyon and now the deal for the former Nottingham Forest midfielder is close.
In terms of outgoings, one player who could have departed the club this summer is Jarrad Branthwaite, with Manchester United making offers for the Everton defender.
The Toffees have begun the season without a win in two Premier League games and were soundly beaten by Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur.

Spezia have ‘definitely acquired’ Everton’s Halid Djankpata
Italian side Spezia have reportedly confirmed the signing of Everton youngster Halid Djankpata, who will take the number 82 shirt at the club.
TuttoMercatoWeb cover the announcement from the club and the exciting Everton ace is set to sign a deal with the Serie A side until June 2027, with the option of a further year.
The Italian press are very happy with the deal, describing him as a midfielder with ‘excellent technical qualities, dynamism and great athletic skills’.
There’s no mention of the price that Spezia would be playing for the Italian teenager but it appears that the Italian club are very happy about securing Djankpata.
It marks a return to Italy for Djankpata, who grew up in Italy before a move to England in 2021. He’s been with the Toffees ever since and made 68 appearances in total for the U18s and U21 sides.
Everton lose Djankpata who was scouted by Liverpool and Man City
Back when the Italian was 13 years of age, the Italian had scouts from Manchester City, Liverpool and Everton and eventually moved to the Toffees.
He has since progressed through the ranks but will now be returning to the Serie A. In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport, Djankata admitted his dream was to win the UEFA Champions League with Juventus.
With this move to Spezia now on the verge of being completed, the Italian will have a chance to prove himself and achieve this dream.
