West Ham could sell two players in the same position in January in order to sign an upgrade, despite both of them being out of contract this Summer.

Danny Ings’ 95th minute equaliser against Fulham wasn’t just luck. The Englishman has been performing well whenever he’s played since the turn of the year and he’s unlucky to not have scored more over the last 9 months.

However, despite him potentially finding his form and the fact that the Hammers have signed Niclas Fullkrug, there’s no denying that the No.9 is a position they could improve upon.

Both Ings and Michail Antonio are out of contract at the end of the season, but they may not be able to see their contracts out. According to Football Insider, West Ham may sell both in January in order to bring in a striker as soon as possible.

Obviously, assuming this is true, this says a lot about how Julen Lopetegui sees them, but it says more about how unimpressed he’s been with Fullkrug.

Hopefully, one of the three strikers can start producing goals regularly, but if they don’t it could lead to two of them leaving the club very soon, and the German may even see himself playing backup to whoever is brought in.
