West Ham United are keen on FC Nordsjaelland striker Sindre Walle Egeli, will face competition from four PL clubs

West Ham United are one of the clubs keen on bringing FC Nordsjaelland striker Sindre Walle Egeli to the Premier League, according to the Daily Mail.

West Ham are preparing for life without the aged striking trio of Michail Antonio (34), Danny Ings (32) and Niclas Fullkrug (31), and the 18-year-old Norway international has emerged as a target.

However, the Hammers will face competition from Brentford, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Brighton & Hove Albion for Egeli.

Nordsjaelland are expected to demand around £21 million for the Norwegian phenomenon who has been widely dubbed ‘the next Erling Haaland’ due to his identical style of play to his compatriot and Manchester City star.

The versatile Egeli bagged 32 goals in 35 games at youth level, including 19 goals in 13 appearances for the reserve team of Sandefjord in the Norwegian Fourth Division.

The West Ham target can also play on both wings and has since played 12 first-team games for Nordsjaelland since joining them from Sandefjord last summer.

Egeli made his senior bow for Norway in their Nations League game against Kazakhstan earlier this month after bagging 32 goals across the age-grade levels for his country, and he could prove to be a solid addition to West Ham if they manage to pip fierce competition to his services.

£21m looks too much for a teenager yet to prove himself at a top level, but it could end up being a steal if Egeli goes ahead to fulfil his huge potential and follow in the footsteps of Haaland.

West Ham will look to secure a spot in Europe at the end of 2024-25, which would help boost their chances in the race for the youngster next summer.
