The two teams were inseparable after 120 minutes, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford. But it was the Cottagers who made the draw for the quarter-finals.
However, Bruno Fernandes levelled the score with an impressive left-foot finish from 16 yards in the second half. Despite United having the upper hand in extra-time, the match was ultimately decided by penalties.
