With Callum Wilson likely to move on, the iconic number 9 shirt will become available. Isak is the obvious successor. Alongside that, he’ll be offered a new deal that makes him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.
He has the chance to follow in the footsteps of Toon legends and cement his place in our modern era.
9. The ownership is strong and ambitious
Our owners are some of the most determined and ruthless operators in world football. They won’t be pushed around in the transfer market, and they certainly won’t be letting a player like Isak go for anything less than top dollar.
