Westham in talks with callum Wilson’s rep over potential transfer

West Ham United are reportedly in active discussions with the representatives of Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson, as the London club explores a potential transfer for the experienced forward. The Hammers are keen to bolster their attacking options this summer and see Wilson as a proven Premier League goalscorer who could significantly enhance their frontline.

Wilson, 33, has been a pivotal player for Newcastle since his arrival from Bournemouth, often leading the line with his intelligent movement and clinical finishing. However, injuries have plagued parts of his career at St. James’ Park, and with Alexander Isak firmly established as the primary striker, Wilson’s future at the club has become a subject of speculation. His current contract situation and the Magpies’ need to manage their squad and financial fair play (FFP) parameters could open the door for a move.

For West Ham, the acquisition of a reliable goalscorer remains a priority. Despite having Michail Antonio and Danny Ings, manager Julen Lopetegui is understood to be seeking a more consistent and prolific presence up front. Wilson’s Premier League experience, leadership qualities, and knack for scoring crucial goals would make him an attractive proposition for the East London side, who are aiming to compete strongly in both domestic competitions and potentially in Europe.

While talks are ongoing with Wilson’s camp, a formal bid to Newcastle United would likely follow if personal terms can be agreed upon. The potential transfer fee and the player’s wage demands will be key factors in whether West Ham can successfully secure the services of the England international, adding a significant piece to their attacking puzzle for the upcoming season.
