Chelsea are eagerly anticipating the new season after being buoyed by their recent Club World Cup victory. The Blues secured a remarkable win over Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain to clinch the trophy stateside.

The 3-0 triumph in America follows closely behind their Europa Conference League victory – their first significant silverware since BlueCo’s takeover in 2022. With seven fresh faces added to their squad and the American tournament now wrapped up, transfer chatter involving Chelsea has been relatively sparse recently.

However, there has been a surge of updates concerning exits, most notably with Arsenal signing Noni Madueke. Below are some of the latest headlines surrounding the Blues, along with a view on each one.

The report comes amid uncertainty over Isak’s future at St James’ Park after he was left out of the club’s pre-season tour. The striker is said to be exploring opportunities away from Newcastle this summer.

And TalkSPORT claim that Chelsea’s Jackson is on the Magpies list of targets if Isak departs the North East Club. Manchester United are also said to be interested in the Senegal forward.

Isaac Seelochan of football.london: “Let’s be honest, Jackson would be a huge downgrade on Isak. The Magpies would be mad to replace their key player with him unless he is used as a backup option to someone like Benjamin Sesko.

Fofana ‘offer’

Everton have reportedly made a surprise €36m (£31.5m) offer for Chelsea-linked Malick Fofana.

French outlet L’Equipe claim that the Toffees could reach an agreement with French club Lyon ‘fairly quickly’. It is said that Everton and Lyon are currently in club-to-club talks while David Moyes’ side are also discussing personal terms with Fofana ahead of a potential move.

Fofana has been a shining light for Lyon since his switch from Gent in January 2024. He accumulated 41 appearances across all competitions and contributed 11 goals and six assists last season.

The 20-year-old also made a significant impact during Lyon’s Europa League campaign and could be among the many players exiting the club this summer due to their financial difficulties.
