Everton close in on rising bayern Munich talent as £8m deal edges close

Everton Nearing £8m Deal for Bayern Munich Talent Adam Aznou

Everton Football Club is reportedly on the cusp of securing a significant signing for the future, with widespread reports indicating that they are “closing in” on a deal to bring highly-rated Bayern Munich prospect Adam Aznou to Goodison Park. The transfer fee is understood to be in the region of £8 million, marking an exciting move for the Toffees.

The 19-year-old Moroccan international, primarily a left-back, has garnered considerable attention for his impressive performances in Bayern’s youth ranks and his recent loan spell at Real Valladolid. Described as “exceptional” by Bayern’s technical director Christoph Freund, Aznou’s potential has been recognized across Europe, with several top clubs reportedly vying for his signature.

Everton’s pursuit of Aznou signifies a clear strategy under manager David Moyes and the club’s new ownership, The Friedkin Group, to invest in promising young talent. With the departure of Ashley Young, a void was created at left-back, and Aznou is expected to provide much-needed competition and depth to current starter Vitalii Mykolenko. His dynamic style, characterized by speed, technical ability, and an attacking mindset, aligns with Moyes’ vision for a modern full-back.

Sources suggest that the deal is now in its final stages, with an agreement having been reached between Everton and Bayern Munich. Personal terms with the player are also understood to be settled, and Aznou is reportedly undergoing or has completed his medical examinations as of today. The initial fee of approximately €9 million (£7.9 million) is expected to be supplemented by a further €3 million (£2.6 million) in add-ons, potentially pushing the total value of the deal to over £10 million. Bayern has also reportedly negotiated matching rights, indicating their high regard for the teenager’s future potential.

This acquisition would mark Everton’s fourth significant signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Thierno Barry, Mark Travers, and the permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz. The move for Aznou underscores the Toffees’ ambition under their new ownership to build a squad capable of competing at a higher level, blending experienced players with promising youth as they prepare for life at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium. Fans will be eager to see if Aznou can translate his considerable talent onto the Premier League stage and become a long-term asset for the club.
