Developments

talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs is reporting that Brentford are now prepared to let Yoane Wissa leave.

The Bees were initially adamant that the forward would be staying in west London after Bryan Mbeumo left to join Manchester United in a £71 million deal.

The forward has been the subject of two bids from Newcastle United, and he wants to join Eddie Howe’s side and play Champions League football.

Wissa has refused to train after he believed a gentleman’s agreement to let him leave this summer has been ignored.

And the Bees are now willing to allow Wissa to go if they find a replacement.

At the end of the day, we always win

Those words have already come back to haunt Evangelos Marinakis because Nottingham Forest have just lost in a pre-season friendly to Birmingham City.

That was their fifth game of pre-season, and they are yet to win, scoring one goal.

And as soon as the full time whistle blew, Birmingham’s social media team posted, ‘Victory over Mr Marinakis’ Nottingham Forest’.

This of course refers to the interview with Morgan Gibbs-White and Marinakis after the England international signed his new contract.

‘Shown strong interest’

RB Leipzig manager Marcel Schafer has been speaking about Benjamin Sesko’s future.

The striker elected to miss his team’s pre-season friendly after Newcastle United submitted a record bid for Sesko.

The forward has yet to give the green light to Newcastle, with Manchester United also keen.

However, they are yet to make an offer for Sesko.

But Schafer confirmed numerous clubs were involved in the chase.

He said: “We won’t go into detail on that, but when I say that several clubs have shown strong interest and have made approaches, it’s obvious what has happened.
