Jack Grealish signed for Everton

Everton are reportedly closing in on a sensational season-long loan deal for Manchester City and England star Jack Grealish. The 29-year-old, who became the most expensive English player in history when he moved to the Etihad in 2021 for £100 million, has been deemed surplus to requirements by City and is keen to move on to secure more playing time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

According to multiple sources, Grealish has already given his verbal approval for the move to Merseyside, with talks between the two clubs advancing rapidly. The key hurdle in the negotiations has been Grealish’s substantial wages, believed to be around £300,000 per week. However, Everton and Manchester City are reportedly nearing an agreement where the Toffees would pay the majority of his salary, with City subsidizing the rest to facilitate the move.

The potential arrival of Grealish is a significant coup for Everton and their manager, David Moyes, who is said to be a huge admirer of the player. Moyes believes Grealish’s versatility and creativity can provide the attacking flair that Everton’s squad has been lacking. A loan deal with an option to buy could also be a financially savvy move for Everton, allowing them to acquire a top-tier player without breaching financial regulations. The transfer window is set to close in less than a month, and both clubs are working to finalize the terms of the deal. If successful, Grealish could be seen wearing an Everton shirt in their new stadium, offering him a fresh start and a chance to reignite his career.
