Newcastle United have seen a £50million offer for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen turned down.
The Magpies are keen on the Norwegian international, who joined Wolves from La Liga side Celta Vigo – initially on loan – before completing a permanent move at the start of last month.
However, Wolves have no interest in selling the 25-year-old, and sources close to the club believe Newcastle are unlikely to meet their valuation during this transfer window.
Strand Larsen, who netted 14 goals in 35 Premier League appearances last season, is among the strikers being considered by Newcastle as they look for attacking reinforcements.
The club are also pursuing Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, though negotiations are progressing slowly.
Wissa has not played for the Bees since talks with Newcastle began, and the player’s desire for the move escalated last week when he deleted all trace of his association with the club from his social-media account.
Wolves have rejected a £50million offer from Newcastle for striker Jorgen Strand Larsen
Brentford are said to be holding out for a fee higher than what Newcastle are prepared to pay and want at least £50million after rejecting an offer of £40m for the 28-year-old.

Well, both teams are still in talk and Fans are raging for the star. If talks goes well, Larsen will join the club sooner than expected, though Brentford is eyeing the star with a higher bid.
Strand Larsen is a good striker, I think Newcastle should try as much and have him this season and see a positive outcome from the Norwegian international.. No doubt he is a star even he is 28 but he is good enough to handle good games and make a team play.
